Well I don’t have to tell you that the holiday time of year is here. Whether you celebrate Christmas or Hannukah, or Kwanzaa, or Diwali, or even Festivus (for the rest of us), this time of year is busy for everyone.
First I must apologize for my laziness in posting this week. I didn’t even do Movie Monday! So next week will be back with some Christmas films to watch.
The month of December is jam packed full of extra trips to see friends and family. When you are trying to fit in work, holiday baking, extra visits, and outings and still getting a workout in through the week, it can be so challenging. For the month of December, I have decided that I will kick my own butt out of bed at 5:30 and get to the gym. Today was my first attempt and I loved it. The parking lot was empty, there were a handful of people in the gym and I know that I have accomplished my work out for today! I will admit, I had the help of certain new cat (Mr. Bates) in our home to help me get up. He likes his breakfast bright and early!
I really want to do some baking this week but I feel like it is slipping away from me. Fingers crossed to get some cookies baked and recipes posted.
Val and I are off to a super cool cooking class tomorrow night with Doug McNish, vegan chef extraordinaire. We can’t wait to get ideas and share our experience with you and all of Doug’s awesome vegan Christmas dish ideas.

Of course our week rounds out with our Furry Friends Friday. A post I do to share some of the animals at our local SPCA that are currently up for adoption. I will also share our own adoption story about the previously mentioned Mr. Bates, our new cat that came from there. He is Bates from Downton Abbey, not as in Norman. 😉
