Ladybird Animal Sanctuary

Today’s Daily Word Prompt is Sanctuary.  The timing couldn’t be any better for this word prompt as I was thinking of something to post, I remembered that this amazing book, Dogs of Hamilton, was out in local stores with 100% of the proceeds going to Ladybird Animal Sanctuary.

Dogs of Hamilton came about as the result of a school project for Luca Simpson of Hamilton.   Instagram call outs to people to meet up in parks around Hamilton, Ontario for photo shoots of their dogs quickly led to the creation of this book with 100% of the proceeds going to the Ladybird Animal Sanctuary.

Ladybird Animal Sanctuary has been operating since 2011 after 3 best friends who were united in music became united in rescuing animals from high kill shelters.  Operating out of Hamilton, Ontario, they seek out animals at risk of being euthanized and place them in foster homes until a permanent adoption can happen.  Working with a team of volunteers, Ladybird Animal Sanctuary has been able to rehome over 600 animals in their short 5 years of operation.

If you are interested in not only supporting the sanctuary, but also getting the Dogs of Hamilton book, please check out the this link   Here  to find out how and where to get it.

If you are currently looking for a furry friend, please consider adopting from Ladybird Animal Sanctuary so they can continue to help more animals in need of forever homes.  If you are not in the Hamilton area, please consider finding a sanctuary near you to find the next furry member of your family.

Here is my sweet girl, Topanga, who we adopted from Golden Rescue. She is in the Dogs of Hamilton book and we couldn’t be happier with her.
