Healing Kitchen Part 3!

Homemade Lotion Bars!

These ones have coffee!!

We like coffee…have we told you that lately?  🙂

We like coffee so much that Val put coffee beans in her Homemade Lotion Bars!

45 grams (1.5 ounces) beeswax

114 grams coconut butter (4 ounces)

114 grams shea butter (4 ounces)

114 grams cacao butter (4 ounces)

2 tbsp whole coffee beans (Makes 2) so if you’re making more…just add as you need to.

1 tbsp dried hibiscus flowers

  1. In a double boiler over medium-heat, melt the beeswax, coconut, shea and cacao butter. Set aside.
  2. Evenly distribute the melted butters into small truffle molds (I used a 3 tbsp capacity heart shaped mold from Ikea).
  3. Place hibiscus flowers in a mold such as a silicone muffin cup. Pour melted oils into cup about half full. Allow to cool for at least 6 hours before removing from mold.
  4. Pour the coffee beans into a silicone muffin cup or soap mold. Pour melted oils into the cup about half full. Cool for at least 6 hours before removing from mold.

Coffee is great for all skin types and acts as a natural exfoliant, cleanser and moisturizer, all at the same time!
